This was in my Grandmothers home, when she passed she gave it to me. I believe she received it as a wedding gift, when she was 20 an she passed at the age of 75. She passed in 1974 so I know this is at least over 70 yrs old...
I have looked for the marking on the bottom in various books but cannot find it.
I m looking to see how old this is and approximately what the value is, even tho to me its priceless.
    Thanks you for your time.

Your photo is a little blurred, what does it say above the initials?Hand painted?
Anyway, I don’t know if you know this but the word NIPPON means Japan, sometimes you’ll see DAI NIPPON, which means Great Japan. however Noritake had partnerships with several porcelain producers in Japan. mostly with kilns in the Nagoya area, and for some reason, probably “marketing" they decided that they would adopt the word “NIPPON” as their own so nowadays Nippon collectors clubs usually only show and accept the marks for Noritake linked companies.
I found a more recent mark similar to yours, but just had it as an US importers generic mark, however I think your pieces probably date to the 1890-1920 period.
The quality is as good as Morimura Brothers, one of the Noritake companies, but unfortunately the value is also related to the name, and the market has a lot of similar sets for sale
