Found two beautiful chairs on auction in Florida. There is no label or any kind of signature from producer. You can tell that chairs are old by the faded color of fabric that was exposed.
The dimensions are approx 34 1/2" at it's highest point,
29 1/2" at their widest and
30 " at their deepest.
I would really appreciate more information about the style and maybe even more if possible.
Thank you!
Welcome to CW. Where do you see the fading fabric? I think I see where the camera has flashed on the satin(?) upholstery. Also, your chair doesn't look very old at all - it has a faux gold finish on the wood, (or resin). The upholstery has been very well done - I don't see anything to suggest great age or many years of use.
All that being said I am open to being pilloried - what do others think?
The style is Victoria ie Louis the 14th and I agree, it's a replica or it has been modernised with the gold pain & shiny upholstery.
I have a complete 7 seater Los the 14th lounge suite that was manufactured on order in 1960 - Original dark stained wood although the upholstery was recovered in 1979.
Thank you Gillian,appreciate your comment.
When I removed the pillow I could see the original color of the fabric.
I am new here and I didn't realize that picture of removed pillow would be important. I'll do better next time.
Thanks Marshall
