I bought this wallet some time a go.i don't know if Chinese our Japanese. All so there was a small card in side . don't know if it is connected to the wallet. May bee the person who owned it can some one help shed some light on it .many thanks
Can't quite see the date on the prayer card.
USS Cabot served in the Pacific war with attacks on Okinawa and Kyushu and various other targets in the South China Sea.
The kanji appears Chinese to me, and as Cabot was around Formosa at times (Taiwan) it's possibly from there.
Thanks to racer4four that is amazing really appreciate your help many thanks.the date on card is 1937
Forgot to say I only paid 5 pounds for it out of antique shop they must have overlooked what they were selling.
Thanks for the love
Very cool piece of history. I had something similar and was told it was made in China for the Flying Tigers. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Tigers
They were a group of American pilots fighting in China in the early 1940s. This could be connected. Good luck!
