I found this is my Grandparents attic after they passed. I have tried to find information as to the date and what it might be worth. It is sealed in shrink wrap.

Getting the Permission of Percy Crosby was not easily achieved. Reading the text here about Trademark Conflict is interesting:

There is actually an Australian connection. The inspiration for the character of 'Skippy' was an Australian who migrated to the USA : Harris Henry “Skippy” Horder.

"Harris was born to George Horder and Maud Fitzgerald in New South Wales, Australia. Aside from being a hero of World War II, having been killed in action, Harris was also a champion bicycle racer. Though he was born in Australia, he went on to become an American citizen, a husband three times, and a father. It was the American Air Force he joined in 1942. He was a gunner air fighter and received many medals, including the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.

Harris went missing in action August 1943 when his plane went missing in action after crashing into the Pacific Ocean near Port Moresby. Harris is memorialized in Honolulu, Hawaii. Harris is memorialized another way-as inspiration for American comic writer, “Percy Crosby” who created a comic character, “Skippy” after listening to humorous tales Harris would tell about his early life in Australia as a newspaper boy."
