I bought this vintage torchiere floor lamp about 40 yrs ago, rewired it, & have used it ever since, changing the shade 3 or 4 times through the years. It works very well with it's 4 bulbs & several light settings, & the current shade is in very good condition. It is a beautiful bronze & has the faux marble on the base.
Very nice American lamps. I have collected the Canadian brand lamps. This one would have been around 1950 when these slag glass pieces were used. The American ones differ usually from the Canadian ones.
Thx for comment, Phil. I'm not sure why they call it "slag glass;" is it because the glass used is refuse from iron smelting? Any idea what this one is worth & if it's worth keeping?
