I found this painting in a consignment store today. It gave me the shiver. Probably because it reminded me of my Mom who passed not too long ago. She was Italian Catholic. She would have loved this. It did not cost much and I could not leave without it. It is signed LM.
This painting is made by using a printing technique on canvas. On the internet you can find several identical paintings around the world especially in Italy. The maker of the original painting is probably Luigi Morgari. This painting is number eight in a set of fourteen paintings telling the story of the crucifixion of Jezus.
