I found this piece in a thrift store sitting all alone. Nobody took any interest in it except for me. I picked it up and found that it was quite heavy. I looked at the ornate workmanship and felt great appreciation for this lovely item. It measures 9" H x 7 1/2" Diagonal taken from the tray top. The diagonal measurements of the base is uneven. 5 1/2" one side, 5 1/4" other side. These were taken from the bottom of the base. The metal is either brass or bronze? With wood inside. Written in the center tray in raised letters: Ferdinand. III DG. ROM. IM. S A. Ferdinand is sitting on his steed wearing a crown and robe, carrying his scepter. There are also four devil heads carved into the top part of the vase. Devils are complete with horns, pointy ears and an open agonized mouth. Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful, what a score !
Thank you for your appreciation.
Looks to be bronze colored brass. What a find!
Who writes on wood with a black magic marker?? Ignoramus! (I feel better now, lol)
Goodwill writes on everything in marker. Thank you for your comment.
