7"Tall
Paper Label=Kyoto Shokai
Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is a city on the island of Honshu. It's famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses.
Shokai- all I know is it means "first time" in Japanese.
I haven't removed the sticker to see if any marks are there because if I remove it I will never find it again so it will just stay put.

question on Satsuma which seems to always have a crackle glaze....why does the "internet" descriptions call these type of figures with these type of glazes "satsuma"
most of these I see online don't have a crackle glaze?!?!? But are being titles "Satsuma"
it get so confusing to me.....no matter he is still cute ;)
I would call it Satsuma ware with Moriage decorations that is what the raised decoration is called. There is Satsuma and Satsuma ware.
