I have posted before my vase by Kinoto (Hee Noto) Amemiya , the great Japanese glass enamelist. It's a wonderful piece and I was happy to find an affordable one.
Well imagine my delight when I found this vase recently, at relatively little cost, and one I am absolutely sure is by Amemiya also.
This vase no longer carries it's artist's sticker and was in an out of the way auction on the internet, so I think it slipped through the collectors' net.
Made from a cranberry coloured glass it is covered in hand painted motifs, all perfectly spaced and enameled. There is little plain glass ground left.
There appears to be some wear to a few parts near the rim, and the typically thick, gold painted rim is also slightly worn. I have had trouble researching this artist but believe he worked mainly from the 60s to the 80s, so this vase may well have some age to it.
Amemiya is documented as being influenced by the Bohemian artists, and although there are similarities with Moser et al, I find his work different enough to be recognisable.
The vase here came from Japan.
Height: 23cm
So pretty Karen.....well done!
WOW!It was my first sound when I saw it.
Absolutely Beautiful!
Time spent searching out of the way places paid off big time here :)
A great find! I thought "1960s" right away, as the design somehow reminded me of the paisley designs which were so popular at that time.
Superb! Lucky you to be at the right page at the right moment ;-))
It's a beauty Karen...love the enamel. I detect a bit of Art Nouveau in the design. Lucky you ! :)
irrespective of age its a beautiful piece of glass almost like a paisley shawl
thankin you kindly for sharing Karen
Beautiful!

Most definitely beautiful!! Congrats on this wonderful lucky find!!!
This is a departure from the other Japanese glass that you've posted Karen... different, but just as beautiful! I can see how it compares to Moser with its very precise enamel work.
Many thanks for the love and comments all. I was lucky to find it and it is nicely different to my other Amemiya.
