This style of glass was not greatly exported from Japan although I do see some around from time to time.
They were produced mainly through the 60s and 70s.
This pitcher was made by Narumi and the vessel itself is a lovely twisted shape with a flared lip and graceful handle.
The hand painted enamel flowers are really quite sweet.
Not high end glass by any means, but like much Japanese production, well designed, well made, and aesthetically pleasing.
This is nice Karen......a very "ladylike" look......don't laugh lol!!! You know I can only call it as it strikes me.........:))
Sweetie piece, love the move in its design!
Ditto Kyra, Karen again this is a stunner, love it. :-)
Regards
Alan
Karen,
This pitcher is really awesome looking. Stunning!
It looks refreshing itself, not only with beverage.
I think that's a good call Judy. Thanks.
Thanks Alan and Kyra. The twist really makes it I think.
Many thanks Scott, as usual!
Ivonne I shall probably never use it but, as you say, it looks refreshing even empty. Many thanks.
pretty!!!!!!!
Another one of your wonderful Japanese pieces Karen! I love the body with its spirals, but boy-oh-boy that enamel work... Wow!
Thanks Flea!
Rick thank you. A nicely made piece, and of course, being Japanese the handwork is well done. Glad you like it :)
Lovely glass, love your profile picture.
