Has anyone ever seen a monkey face stamp like this? Its both on the top and bottom of the 1 statue. Its very unique if you ask me. I didn't even notice the top stamp until days after buying and even posting here. I thought this was cast iron as well when I first posted here but my magent doesn't stick to it, if anyone may know what this is I'd really like to know. I know its not ceramic/porcelain. Very appreciated and thanks for taking your time. I included a stamp from a 2nd horse that came with this...it only has the bottom stamp as shown in the picture minus any monkey looking face.

Wood platforms were made to fit the older Chinese horses. Purely decorative and were displayed in Asian designed homes. Having a pair makes them more valuable for display. Chinese made these in bronze and Tang pottery styles. They still make them for luxury décor websites.

I see similiar horses at that site, I'm still at a loss on the picture "signature" on the bottom of both pieces. Has anyone ever seen something like this or might be able to shed light on what brand or whom the designer is?

They are seal marks in Ancient Chinese.
They are not an indicator of age.

I put my rare earth magnet to the horses thinking that I had cast Iron horses but the magnet didn't stick at all. I'm now not sure what kind of material has been used for these statues. Is this bronze? I also just noticed that on the bigger horse statue there is also an ancient Chinese stamp on the fron side of the base as well. Couldn't believe I overlooked it but there it was and is. Does anyone know if these are good pieces or what the stamp idicates? Its a very distinct monkey face if you ask me. Ive added a couple pictures of the close up.
