Here is a nice little Kutuni toothpick holder 1 1/2 tall with a flowers and hand written poetry on the inside. has the original box it came in. date wise 1920's tourist item from japan. Paid a little more than I normal pay for item but the quality of the workmanship great so it was worth it.

Beautiful! Is there a mark on the base you can share?

very nice! why would you call it Kutani and not Satsuma? i'm still learning and i get the Japanese terms confused alot.

It has Kutani colors and does have a Kutani mark. which I will post will edit my pictures and the fact that its made of porcelain and Satsuma is earthenware generally has a thick clay body not always. But I believe Kutani is always made of porcelain but not sure on that . But Satsuma is always earthenware of some sort.
