I have owned this Ball Improved Jar since the 1970s. It is light amethyst in color, around five inches tall, has mold lines up both sides, has several bubbles in the glass and a #2 on the bottom. The back of the jar is plain, no markings or printing. It belonged to a gentleman in the Adirondacks before me. I use it as a pen and pencil holder on my desk. I really love the soft color of it.

Stick the jar in a sunny window and the amethyst color will continue to deepen over time. Keep it out of direct sunlight if you like the color as is. Hope this helps.
