Can someone give me any information on the silversmith (John Miller) who made this spoon I just inherited from my uncle? I received it with a note (of unknown origin) stating who it had belonged to (my great-grandfather, has his initials on it) and was made from silver knee buckles. My great-grandfather lived 1819-1901 in Hardin county Kentucky. Thank you for your help.
Was in hopes identifying the silversmith would confirm the age of this spoon and lend some credibility to the note that I received with the item. My uncle has passed, there is no one I can get additional information from concerning this spoon.
The only John Miller I found who was a silversmith is this man, but there is no way to verify if this was the man who made the spoon.

This spoon simply isn't traceable based on the small amount of info available.
I was in hopes someone would recognize the mark on this spoon as being the mark of a specific silversmith. I've given you all the information I have except that the spoon is about 5 3/4" long. I don't have any other information on it. Thank you for your response though, I appreciate your time to answer.
Can anyone tell me an approximate age of the spoon just from the style or the shape?
