Found this error coin and would like more information. It looks like the dye and cast are both messed up but I still found it to be interesting. I can not seem to find any others like it on the internet.

Getting run over by a car does not an error make...

TubeAmp funny funny
No, I'm serious. The damage looks consistant with a road coin. Also it looks like it was exposed to water, with dirt or debris acting as protection to produce the mottled finish.

Neat coin but TubeAmp is probably right on the ball in terms of a roader. You'd be surprised how many interesting ways coins can be corroded or stained either on purpose or simply through the statistical inevitability of items that exist in the billions that are meant to be circulated through thousands upon thousands of hands before the end of their days.
If you dig it though hang onto it like I would; as I believe even the vast majority of "valuable" coins are only so because somebody liked them. The 1909 S-VDB isn't a rare coin by any stretch but, somehow, it's vastly more valuable than many coins like the 1900 Proof Indian Head of which maybe 200 exist.
