A big hello to all at cw!
I thought it was about time I stopped by and contributed! This is an antique 9 carat gold opal doublet from the Arts & Craft era and a good size at 16 mm×10 mm.
It has intense spectral colours of red, blue and green with flashes of orange.
Rim set in an oval frame & a decorative kite shaped outer frame.
The antique 9ct buttery gold chain compliments the opal nicely.
Hope you like it!
Hi Betty, just gorgeous!!!
Wooohhh... What a superb piece!
Gorgeous. How it is a "doublet''?
Thanks Judy!
Hi kyra! Its a beauty !
Hi Celine, an opal doublet or triplet are slices of opal glued to a black backing (usually ironside or potch) designed to imitate a solid black opal.

Just gorgeous Betty. I'm drooling on the keyboard here.
Thanks Karen! I really like the kite shaped setting and the size, not to big or to small.

Hi Betty, lovely pendant and chain. The link above is of some earrings on my post which have similar markings to your Pendant.
