We have this vintage bicycle from a scrap heap that we wanted to get some information about. It's been painted white but the front badge says 'Premier Cycle Made In Japan'
Is there anyone that knows anything about this bike?

It's a Premier Cycle. It was made in Japan.
It was a British company. Scroll down for unpainted badge. It's older than I thought.
"As the above Japanese Premier headbadge uses the British company’s Kangaroo logo, it may be a badge from the British company’s Japanese branch. There is a report that the failure of the Japanese operation caused Premier of Coventry to cease production of Premier motorcycles in 1914."

Premier was a brand from the Deane Family and it was sold out of, what was at the time Australia's Biggest Bike shop in Logan. They would carry over 3,000 bikes at any time and used to wholesale them as well as retail.
The company was set up by Ray Deane (my ex Father in law) and it was a family run business. The bikes are all chrome molly and the wheels were stainless with stainless spokes. The Bikes were all made in Japan by Shimano but assembled in Australia. Premier had a range and it included some of the first Mountain Bikes called the Bronco It was a brilliant bike to ride. Repco and K Mart etc started bring in cheap made in china bikes and began selling really cheap parts in the late 1980's this forced the closure of the wholesale side of the business as all the bike shops dumped the Premier range and went for the cheap bikes. About a year later in 1990 the Deane family just had a small shop in Cleveland. The stress of seeing a once fantastic business which would sell over 20 racing / mountain bikes every Saturday morning, to a shop not much bigger than a lounge room, took its toll and Ray passed away in 1992. Ray's Son took over the business in about 1990 and ran this for about 8 - 12 years. There should be a small sticker on the bike "Made in Japan by Shimano" If they could have hung on during the influx of the cheap bikes, they would have gone to the new style of bikes with big tubing. There's 2 series numbers on it.
One is next to the badge - 110709
The other down near the pedals - MC17709
