I picked up a collection of 14 Marilyn Monroe Movie stills or promo shots at auction. They are all 8"x 10".The first picture I haven't bee able to pinpont what movie it's from. The only marks is the number 299 in the lower right corner?
The second picture I believe is from the movie "Bus Stop". It is marked in the bottom margin "Made in U.S.A." and has black box with "jf\qv" I think, it's handwritten and hard to decipher.
The third picture is from the movie "No Business, Like Show Business". Again marked in the bottom margin "printed in U.S.A." and black box with hand written "ew\ov".
The fourth picture is my favorite, It's from the 1954 Movie "River of No Return", it has Marilyn playing the guitar to Tommy Rettig. Not her normal sexual vamp role. Again marked "printed U.S.A." and a black box with"hn\ov"
These are all what appear to be vintage 1950's glossy photos. Can any tell me what the numbers and hand written notation's in the black box's in the borders mean?
The first movie still is from "Some Like it Hot." It was released in March 1959. Marilyn's character was named Sugar Kane.
The first photo is from "Some Like It Hot".
