1960s Anti-War Protest Helmet w. Painted Peace Symbol

This artifact dates from the Vietnam War era - and I believe the helmet is actually from a Vietnam Soldier. Sometimes I have seen these created from WWII helmets. These were used in anti-war protests of the times. An interesting aspect is that it was painted with just gold paint, and not the usually psychedelic pallet. Another aspect that fascinated me is the peace symbol is painted facing the back! Highly unusual - maybe this person saw themself as a leader in the movement? ...Liked it enough to hang it on the wall.
