I bought this at a moving sale for $50. Been trying to find info on it for weeks. Tag on it says made by Cavalier for Coca Cola ser # 35617 inside the box is stamped with raised letters .. TN 40 11 . Inside measurement, L 26 3/4'' W 21'' D 12 1/2. there is a outlet hole near top in the back that may have been for a hose to put more water in. Doesn't seem to have a way to put legs on it. Did it set on a table? I would like to know ballpark year. Also would it be worth restoring? Ballpark price would be nice. Thanks to anybody with info
You have a Cavalier Standard with it legs cut off, same as a Westinghouse Standard but Cavalier also made them. Many stores cut the legs off to put them on countertops, I also have read that the military cut the legs off to send them overseas, easier to store on boats and planes and some were brought back. I just bought one for $20 with lids but mines a Westinghouse, I will use mine for parts because I do find some with missing lids and the liner rusted out. The Westinghouse and Cavalier came 2 ways one with an enclosed bottom (like in the picture) and one with and open bottom, (like yours and they cut the legs) the lids show me that you have a later years (1940s and newer had emboss lids) the early years approx. 1939 did not have the emboss lids.
Here is a picture of a Westinghouse Standard enclosed type.
