The latest bottle I added to my collection is the Meisner & Bischoff.
When I seen the bottle on e-bay I noticed something really familiar about the embossed picture. An Eagle clutching arrows. So I looked in my collection and sure enough the same embossed picture is on two other bottles from the Eagle Soda Water Co.
After some quick research I learned that a H.J. Meisner (pres.) and an Emil A Bischoff (mgr) were operating the Eagle Soda Water Co at 1924 O'Fallon in St. Louis, Missouri from 1920 to around 1930. I found a reference to an Eagle Bottling Co. from 1904 to 1906 at a different location, so am not sure if Eagle just changed names and location or what happened.
Anyway the first 6 1/2 oz bottle I am unable to date as I found only numbers on the heel. Hard to read possibly 1118.
The middle quart is around 1922
The Meisner & Bischoff is from around 1910 to 1915 (has 22S10 on the heel?)
Perhaps H.J. and Emil changed the name of the company from Meisner & Bischoff to Eagle sometime between 1915 and 1920?
Welcome back.
Oh, the first looks like a Priof closure. Circa the 1920s.
Thanks, I'll be posting more bottles from time to time.
