1957 20in Madame Alexander hard plastic doll wearing her original black velvet couture dress, rhinestone bracelet and earrings.
Her sarin hair is still in its original setting.
The very large bisque doll was a gift to me from my mother many years ago. She is not branded as she was made by a close friend of my mother who was learning to make bisque dolls as a hobby, some of the dolls she gifted to her family and close friends.
Don't they look sweet together!
You have a very desirable Cissy doll by Madame Alexander . Her clothes also are very collectible and she is in her original dress. She is only missing the flowers in her hair . Gorgeous Love her !
A Cissy in a black velvet dress went for over $2200 just the other day on ebay...Very nice dolls! I'm jealous...in a good way =) I recently got me a Cissy, too, now looking for a dress!
Congrats AnnaB on your Cissy and I suppose you have seen how much their clothes sell for ! Hope you find a good deal on one . $2200 would be a exception and mint in box to just right buyer ,but they do sell for a very hefty price :-)
Thank you Mani! It gives me so much joy to have her, i feel like a kid again =) Yes, i know how much the clothes go for...if i came across a place with lots of Cissies and their clothes to sell, i'd become a millionaire very fast lol
Thank you manikin :) Sorry! I forgot to mention she is a cissy doll and missing her fur stole, shoes and flowers:( Hi AnnaB, thank you for the info, was the doll mib?
I do love my cissy doll:)
Betty, here's a link to the Cissy i mentioned. Not mint and not in box. The bids in thousands were made in the last few seconds. Before that the doll was in hundreds.

Thank you Anna for the link. I am very surprised to see cissy dolls reaching high prices like the one in your link even though they have always been cherished and well sought after dolls.
This is a fishy price and sale . The doll is in poor condition and there is nothing about her that warrants that price . They sell more around 200-400 as a average depending on clothes and condition more or less
This is exactly what i thought, too, Mani! When there was about 1 min left and the doll was just over $200 and called my kid to watch the end of auction and said "Let the fun begin. Wanna bet it will go for about $400?" So we sit there, watching the numbers jump, and then $2K happened in the last few sec. My jaw dropped and i sat speechless for some time...LOL I wasn't trying to mislead Betty about the price of these dolls, it's just this one in a black velvet dress was very fresh in my memory, but they do go for about $200-400 as you said, depending on the condition.
Mani, did you receive my email? =)
No email ? Anna, and whoever was bidding on this must see something we can't see lol and it is not the watch she mentions as they sell for only around 50 dollars . I have no clue what they were thinking and her hair do is ruined to boot and very hard to fix.
Maybe they typed an extra zero by mistake!
I'm going to re-send the email now, let's hope it works this time. Maybe it is going into your junk folder? I'd really love your thoughts on these two dolls i'm trying to send you.
