Hello CW friends!!
Nope, not a picnic basket. Believe it or not, there once were suitcases made completely of willow wicker. Here's one that I have in my collection. It was made in Europe in the early 1900's. Some of these were very elaborately lined with fabric, but, as you can see, this one is a much simpler version.
Not much else to tell about this one, but I've always thought it was very unique.

How clever is this. Wicker is light, strong, malleable (won't ding), environmental, good looking, and relatively cheap. We should still use it!

Just a quick note....the Davy Crockett I have posted is 1 of 2 I've ever seen....Haddon Model 20 is the model, but they also produced another model 20,before and after it. so it was a temporary idea, lol
