Went to a Christmas decoration show about a week and half ago. Having not been to this before I did not know how it was played. Everyone lines up outside and when it is time and not before they let everyone in. I had a really good spot in line but that was squandered as I had some bags and no bags were allowed. You were given a shallow box, something like a tray and then go in and fill it up. A lady who got in before knew how to play it and I would have snagged everything she bought.
After one fills up their box you flag down an employee who puts your finds in a bigger box in the back and then you get back to filling up your small box.
As to this item it was the first thing I saw that interested me. It's a bit over 8" tall. Just a bit of yellowing going on which indicates vintage. The back is metal with a hole to mount it on a wall. When it is opened up it there is an electric candle inside and yes it lights up..
Looks like 1960s or 70s.
Dontcha hate it when that happens....
Your Santa is 1950s!

Thank you ever so much Efesgirl. Looks like I didn't do my homework. I also forgot to mention it is flocked. Need to revise my description.
Thank you

Flocked! Some of my old ornaments are flocked too....
He's a great find!
I don't know, is the plug polarised? Looks early '60s to me.
Thank you very much racer4four. Flocked is good
Plug is not polarized. I was thinking 60s too but 1950s seems just as likely.
Thank you

Thank you SEAN68.
My family has a Glolite Santa too! It is my mom's, she's had it since she was a kid in the 1950s. We use him as a tree topper. He's been in use, year after year. Still lights up and everything. Cool!
Thank you very much Licorice1977. Very cool that you still have yours.
