      I was first issued these after the satine covers were replaced approx. 1976

      The ripstop material would put this one in the 1990s at the earliest.

      A photo of the tag would be very helpful in precise dating.

      Scott, I would have to argue with Rip-stock being 1990's, in the mid 1970's we (The Marine Corp) were issued rip-stock utilities, we could wear the straight satine or rip-stock camo. I still have a few sets of utilities.

      No problem, kerry. I didn't see the "type 2"-- was mainly basing it on the camo color and the construction of the hat (cover for you marines).

      I wasn't aware of the early wear of ripstop by Marines-- I'd like to see one of your camo uniforms.
