Couldn't find anything on the makers "McMann & Koch" of New York either - nothing in any of my Clock books. You might want to make a posting on the National Association of Watch and Clock Collector's Forum - their website can be found at - http://mb.nawcc.org/usercp.php
I've found the people there to be extremely helpful when researching clocks and watches. Just remember, they do not do appraisals, so do not, and I repeat, do not ask for your clock's value. Doing so is anathema to them and will get you banned.
Good Luck!
Ken
Look at the circular trade mark at the bottom of the movement. It likely says J. Freres (Japy Freres), S. Marti, or Vincenti. It's a French seven day, time and strike movement on nickeled brass bell. The case is a tambour style. The dial shows that it's what's called an open escapement movement as you can see the gears as it ticks. Sadly, the black marble case is badly damaged; it's missing all the lower marble panels (which adds about another 3 inches in height) as well as the damaged glass and missing bell and pendulum. Circa 1880 to 1900
This clock is indeed French. Japy Frères is a very primitive maker that made Garniture clocks also. Date wise, I would say probably 1870's. I also has what is called a platform escapement seen on the face. There are parts missing: at first glance the pendulum, key and bell. Very nice find and thanks fro sharing!
