Before its' bomb making capabilities, uranium was used as a colorant. When exposed to shortwave UV light, it displays a brilliant fluorescence. Pieces are relatively common and inexpensive. The radioactivity is low and makes for a great display!
lol....I know a guy here that wanted some of my UV glass too.. HE carries around a Gyro-counter to test things for radioactivity ......... I thought he was the only one
