Hi everyone
These are just the cutest little clips to show you.
They have that odd fitting where the wings when squeezed together open and close the prongs on the back so they can be attached to .......and this is the hard part!!
I have seen these listed as veil pins/brooches, hat ornaments etc so I guess they could be worn on anything that the prongs would go through!
These are only costume jewellery and both have some damage, but I think they are just adorable.
(Kyratango posted a much nicer one not so long ago)
I found a patent reference for an ornament by Ralph De Rosa from 1935 that is a similar fitting on a butterfly......I will post the link.

Love them both but the black duck gets my vote. Butterflies appear lots in my brooch collection, but no black ducks! GO the duck!!!

They are not really easy to manipulate either as you said in the post of your bug...... cute but very awkward!!
