Found these very nice albeit somewhat modern black lacquer tables at Salvation Army this morning. They're done in a satin finish instead of the usual high gloss. The bird and floral designs are slightly recessed and then filled in with color. Surprised to find a pair too. Each top has a different flower and bird design but other than that they are identical. The interesting shape is referred to as a "garden stool" but I really don't think you'd want to sit on these. More likely to be placed at the sides or in front of a sofa as a coffee table. One carries the Dragon label from the "Jinlong Furniture factory" In Beijing China. There's also a label that says "People's Republic of China" so I know they're not that old but still very nice. -Mike-
Thanks Thomas :)
Your lovely tables are from the 1970s.
