Look what I found in the archives! It's Mr J!!! (jscott0363) haha I had to laugh and wish I could send him to you but it belongs to my brother. I thought of Mr J immediately when I saw him.
It's a Huckleberry Hound piggy bank from the early 60's. Why is he red, I do not know because the one on TV was blue wasn't he? There's no writing on him anywhere...wait, there is a number 13 on the bottom. (Now that's funny! Wish I could share the reason) 10" tall or 25.4cm
Isn't Huckleberry Hound the one that sung "oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my daaarrrrlin' Clemintine"???
How many of you are finishing that song?!? LOL You all are gonna be mad at me for that one! lol
You are lost and gone forever........hahahaha
Sing along now ;)
xoxo!
You been dippin' in Granny's cider again? LOLOL
'and stuff like that thar'!
hahahaha That's a good one Bonnie...I wish I had an excuse like that but no, it's natural! OMG if I don't laugh, I'd have to purchase the whole Kleenex Company!!! (That'd probably be Procter & Gamble)
That's right ho2! We had some great cartoons, lots of character. I still love Martin the Martian!
Thanks for the love Jlmam
Sippin the Egg Nog again? LOL
I bet kids these days do not even know who he is......
Hey Rose, no egg nog now but a hot totty sounds warm and good! Are you singing along Rose??? haha
I wonder if the color variation ( rather than normal blue ) makes yours any Rarer??
~ I am a singing
Now that would be nice! hahaha I just saw the last thing you said...by tomorrow, your gonna be aweful angry at me...hahaha
I got Mr Js numbers wrong at first...fixed them now!
Singing for you Sue!
I won't look at a Scott post now without thinking of this. And singing.
Cool item. The plush version of Huckleberry Hound was red too but he was blue in the cartoon.
Love this, I always loved Huckleberry because he was always so laid back with a nicer voice than a lot of cartoon characters back then.
Oh, he's wonderful!!!! I still remember sitting in the floor on Saturday mornings watching the Huckleberry Hound cartoons, as well as Yogi and BooBoo and all the others. What a great bank!! Thanks for posting.
This was one of my favorite cartoons when I was growing up Share! Thanks for bringing back some fond memories!
Thanks Karen, dowsn't he remind you of Scott?!!! I'm going to see if I can get it to him so he can post as his avatar! That would be so cool!
Dowsn't, what does dowsent mean?! haha sorry
Thanks for the info fort, I didn't know that! And thanks for the love and comment too ;)
Hi Phil, thank you for the love and comment. I have to agree with you, his voice wasn't obnoxious like some for sure. Oh shoot, I'm singing again!!! Glad no one can actually hear me ;) haha Late replies, I know...sooo busy!!! I'd rather be right here.
Well hello Mr J!!! He reminds me of you so much! I'll see what I can do about that! Thanks as always for the love and comment.
Hi ya Rick! No problem. I have little reminders in inconspicuous spots here and there...I feel like it lightens the mood and things aren't always so serious. Usually when others see the characters, they really enjoy that too, even when they aren't old enough to know exactly who the characters are. Glad I was able to brighten your day!
