Hello and info greatly received please, about this little Phinney Walker watch. I can't seem to find out much about the watches but loads about the clocks so jump right in, Kerry and co, and do your thing with knowledge, information and then probably a post showing your millions of watches ha ha. Off to the cinema now but am guessing there will be info by the time I return ! Lol x
I'm sure Kerry will be able to give you a lot of detail about this watch, Phinney Walker is mostly known for clocks but did make this watch which I think is a one
jewel swiss movement, I would guess from the 70's. Im also thinking a special prezzie may yet make it to your stocking if all goes well haha! I believe your wrist
watch also was available with a blue dial.
Great....Phinny Walker only produced two different character watches... Both of which are Disney....Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. These were produced by in the late 1960's. Vonsboy is correct, there is also a Blue variant. Great Piece....Thanks for sharing yours, If you wish to see the Donald also,Ican post for you.
Kerry
Just a quick note....after reviewing your other photos, noticed the case..... someone has re-cased this(possibly "cloned"), the original pieces came with see-thru backs and matching strap
I should add, there's a black and white variant. They resemble the Swatch Watches of the day
very nice piece I do not think I have one of these, great find
Woohoo knew you three would help with info though it took awhile ha ha. Thanks for the loves esp Trey who seems to like cans of all sorts !! Very cool. X
Good day young lady, the more I look at this, the more I'm sure a "Clone"..... I have seen the dial plates for sale on fleabay in the last year or so. Still a great addition, but not an original piece, sorry to be bearer of bad news, but thought you'd like to know. Happy Holiday wishes to you and Mom
Regards
Kerry
Thank you Kerry and am not fretting about the "clone". It wasn't much £ and am happy to have it in my collection anyway. Would always prefer to have knowledge than blissful ignorance ha ha. Not long till the jolly fat man comes bearing gifts woohoo xx
Thank You for the kind words I hope to post some more soon.
