I have mentioned before that my lovely Cornish pixie pin by Instone was recently lost. Sad indeed.
I saw this brooch for sale on Ebay and bought it to console myself. Fortunately it was very cheap as the seller didn't even mention that it was sterling silver, and the enamel work is a bit drab and tatty. I like it however.

I guess my question is: is this another unmarked Bernard Instone?
    The pixie certainly looks similar.
It is stamped on the back: Sterling Silver Made in England, but no other marks.

Thanks Judy. The shell is similar although mine is bigger (brooch, not earrings I guess) but the pixie certainly looks the same moulding.
I have a feeling my brooch is Instone, it's just I am reluctant to attribute without some moral support lol!

As soon as I saw it I thought Bernard Instone - not that I know anything other than what I've learned from this site! I had seen the earrings above before and thought this looked the similar.

It's lovely, glad you found it :)

Yes Karen, there's no doubt in my mind this is Bernard Instone. May be you can get some advise from kyra on how to do some restoration work.

Thanks Pebble. I had never heard of Instone until Jean showed him here on CW. It's cool what we learn!!

I was hoping you would confirm Instone for me Jean. Many thanks.

What happened to your other pin, Karen? I couldn't find the thread you mentioned.
    14. racer4four racer4four, 8 years ago
It was possibly in a comment somewhere Katherine. I wore it out one day, got home and it was missing. :(
