This is a Wilton Armetale plate with "Inn of the Clock" on the plate. "Inn of the Clock" was a restaurant located in the twin towers during the 1970's. It was a popular steakhouse during the days of Club Studio 54. It was designed by Manhatten architect Thomas F Hennessey later to be bought by Steven Rubell. Because there were no smokestacks designed to In the building to cook steaks properly, I believe the restaurant ended up closing.

    Other cool info....
**Supposedly, a lot of celebrities went to this restaurant
**I can find no other plates or remnants from this restaurant with the exception of a matchbook that is displayed in the New York Historical Museum-they offered to put my plate on display but I'm holding on to it for now

I'm dying to know if anyone knows the possible value of my ole' pewter plate.....

Although this piece has the look and feel of pewter, it is actually a FDA tested, food-safe, Aluminum alloy created by Wilton here in the USA in the 1930’s.
Many people list their Armetale stuff on eBay as pewter
List it on eBay under restaurant ware and see what happens, you can always put a reserve price, which means it won’t sell for less than that reserve, or sell it to the museum
