I inherited this set. The marks are Paul's Italy 4095. Thanks to this site I learned about the American importer Edward Paul but I'd like to know the age and name of this set. Thanks for any help!

Your pottery dates somewhere between the 1950s/1980s. Not possible to identify the pattern, as the import pieces did not carry a maker's name or any other pertinent information. 4095 is the pattern/design number and cannot be used for identification.

"Paul's was not an artist but rather an Import company based in New Jersey.
The Arditti family purchased the company from the original owner,Edward Paul in the 1930's.
The company did not begin importing ceramics from Italy until the mid 1950's. Unfortunately one of the company's policy was to make sure that the items they imported did not include the maker's name or logo. Paul's used many different manufacturers and studios in their wholesale line.
Imports of Italian pottery by this company ceased in the late 1980's.
