I have found one similar pair on e-bay with a copyright ARP stamped on the bottoms of their pieces.
My pair does not have any forms of ID that I can find. I am not even sure what it is made of, appears to possibly be thin (1/8 inch) plaster or ceramic mold, with mesh cloth draped around it's plump body. It has been gilded w/gold, (mesh also), as I found some flakes inside of the sitting one.
The leaves have metal wire inside of whatever composition forms to make the leaves, which is cracked in a couple of places.
The standing one is 18 1/2 inches tall
There is a note on the bottom of the pedestal stating it came from the Lemp house in Kirkwood MO, and bought at an auction by a well known antiques dealer at the time. (1989)
I have not been able to find out who made this or any other information, so I am putting out feelers to help me obtain some knowledge about them.
Thank you all very much. Ed
I realize this is old but I have to reply because I have the same thing. Right under the but cheek of the lifted leg, mine says C (with a circle around it) ARP. This was my grandmother's and I adore it
