Advertising Pocket Mirror from my collection of celluloid automobile pocket mirrors. This mirror dates to 1906 for the Marmon automobile company. The first Marmon automobile was built in 1902 at there factory in Indianapolis, Ind. by brothers Howard and Walter Marmon. Marmon automobiles were known for there high horsepower engines at the time. Price points for Marmons in 1906 & 1907 ranged from 2500.00 to 5,000.00 for there top of line models for those years. The Marmon Company was in business from 1902 to 1933.
The first Indianapolis 500 race was held on Memorial Day, May 30th, 1911. A Marmon Wasp won that race.
