I was given this sewing machine and have no idea who made it, how old it is or what its value is. I have looked everywhere online & cannot find this "Fair" brand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance.
What you have is a clone of a class 15 Singer machine . Most likely made in Japan . I would not know the year for sure . But it is in very nice condtion . The Class 15 machines are good machines . Look under machines made in Japan . Is that a letter J in front of the number ?
Thank You so much. I will look into that. I called Singer earlier and they said it wasn't one of theirs but told me it was either manufactured by Davis or AG Mason. I've looked for info on either of these manufacturers and still can't find anything about the "Fair" brand. The serial number is K66422.

Just wanted to ask a question for my mother. She was given a Harrison-Wheeler sewing machine which had been engraved with the yrs it was patented on part of it. I can't remember the exact yrs but i think it was something like 1744 or 1844 and then 2 other yrs aswell. My mother has had it for yrs but never used it because she thought it was worth something. It's a beautiful little machine. I tried to look it up on the internet but cannot find any companies with Harrison-Wheeler together in the title..Could it be that the plate with the engraving of the patant yrs on ikt is wron g for the machine? Would it be best if I sent you a picture of the sewing machine sometime? I'm stumped by it really..Hope you can give me some kind of heads up on the name at least..

The only sewing machines that I know much of anything about are Singers . I do know that there is a machine called a Wheeler and Wilson but that is about all I know . There are web sites for collectors of sewing machines . It is free to join and the people there are very nice and helpful . One of them is : < wefixit , shade tree mechanics > I do not think that the engraving on the machine is wrong .
I bought A singer The serial # is G3662655. I want to know what it is worth? I got it from a yard sale. It has no stand but the machine seems all there. It works.
Nick Westrick : Just about anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it . As for your sewing machine there are many factors to take into consideration . I would have to see a picture of it for one thing and condition is the biggest factor , model is another , decals , etc. Just because it runs does not mean that it will sew !

Hello to all, I have just discovered this great site after tracking through various Google suggestions. I am searching for info on an old sewing machine I have just saved from the tip I came across this 'FAIR' machine and spotted that it had the SAME DECALS as my machine. My machine has no makers name at all, it is almost identical to a Singer 27 or 28 machine and is numbered 1865290. Since their has been no change on this thread for 2 years perhaps someone can come up with some info for me and apace8273.
Nice sewing machine. I posted a Baldwin Sewing machine a few months ago. Its another Japanese Singer clone. I could not find any information on the Baldwin machine other than it was made in the late 50's.
They never mark it Mystery Solved.
