Hello fellow collectors!
I was out today having lunch with my wife and browsing the antique shops. My wife came across this pair of vintage brass heralding horns and insisted that I buy them. Just kidding!! I would have bought them anyway:)
Anyway, these are pretty long. They're 45 1/2" long , including the mouth pieces. They do disassemble into to two pieces and the mouth pieces are removable as well.
The mouth pieces have a number 1 engraved into them and there are some letters engraved into each horn that read "REXC" and another letter that I can't quite make out.
One of these has a stainless steel sling for hanging your banner on. But, the other is missing it's sling. No worries though, as these were only $10.00 each. They were in pretty tarnished condition and I was able to give them a good polishing.
Thanks for stopping in to have a look!!!!
Scott
A BIG thanks to our CW friend fortapache for properly identifying these lovely horns as heralding horns.
IMMACULATE OBJECTS !!!
Festive Fun !!!
Kevin,
Thank you!! They go well with my other hunting horns. And they look great next to our Christmas tree as well. Thanks again!
Cindy,
Thanks very much!!! I have a few hunting horns, but none this long. I glad my wife spotted these today. Otherwise, I would have definitely missed out on these.
Thanks everyone for the loves and appreciations

Well, I can finally Tell Scott to " Go BLOW YOUR HORN ..." and you can...LOL
Just kidding!!
These are GREAT !!!
Rose,
I already have and they work great:) Thanks for the fun comment!!!
Cindy,
Thank you so very much!! They were actually in the loft of an old cabin, that's now an antique shop. They were sitting with the vintage and antique Christmas decor. We have several foxes and hunting horns on our tree and so we just thought it'd be fitting to set these next to our tree as well. Thanks for the wonderful comment and I'm so glad you like these as much as we do.
Rob,
Thanks friend!! I gotta give my wife the credit for spotting these. Otherwise, I'd have never seen them.
Thanks for the appreciations and loves

Many thanks to you all!!!
I believe what you have there are a pair of herald horns. You hang your banner from the steel sling. Have a pair of your footmen to play these when you enter and exit your home.
fortapache,
Thank very much!! I knew someone would have the correct terminology for these. I'll have to hire me a couple of footmen to greet me each day:) Thanks again very much!!!!
Thanks to everyone for the loves and for dropping by
