A lifetime ago I served as a golf professional at a very old, prestigious country club. I was mentored by a wonderful, polymathic man who smoked a pipe, which habit I had begun while in law school. During my tenure and his mentorship, I somehow acquired a Delft tobacco keeper, which sat on my desk in the golf pro shop for years.
Unfortunately, the original piece met an untimely demise after an unfortunate incursion with the handle of a well-intended vaccum cleaner.
Ebay provided this replacement some ten years ago, and it's part of the things in our "golf room" which bring pleasant memories.
