Hello CW friends. This is another flea market find. It's a lariat necklace made of what looks like gunmetal to me (it's quite dark and glossy), and rhinestones. The hook and holes allow you to play with length and style. The cool thing about this lariat is that is it really long, like hip length. It works really great with a simple black dress. I'm thinking 70's or 80's? What do you think?
    Merci!

Thank you PhilD! So nice of you to say so. I sometimes feel a little self-conscious about posting newer items, but then I remember that this place is called Collectors Weekly and not Old Weekly, and that all is well :-))) Thank you for the kind comment!

What a cooooool necklace! I have also never seen one like that and find it quite interesting. I would love to know who came up with that design.

I Googled "adjustable rhinestone lariat necklace" and found many that are adjustable through the use of a loop, and one that uses a clasp. Didn't find one with a hook, however....

Thank you everyone for the love and comments! I'm really happy you like this.

Tassie, I was thinking the same thing. Now I really need a disco night out don't I! :-))

Efesgirl, thank you for the link and all the research you are doing! That necklace on Raleigh Vintage is gorgeous and the whole website is such an eye candy, oh my. I'm so bookmarking this. About design... since all my goodies are found on Japanese flea markets I'm always hoping for a special Japanese design, but of course I can never be sure. Most of the things I come home with are unmarked, and sometimes I get quite insecure, is this any good or is it just last year's junk? :-)) So I decided to buy only if I like the design, most of the time without knowing anything about the item. Thank goodness for you guys! :-))

Haha Bijou, a night out sounds like fun!!
To buy only what you like regardless of knowing anything about it is the best way!!

Express had a line of black gunmetal jewelry a number of years ago, and it may be theirs. And it's actually a belt but looks fine as a necklace, too.

So good Bijou! It works fantastically as a flapper length necklace.
      Great find there.

.. thank you so much Efes, Tassie, davy, racer, valentino, and everyone for the loves!

A belt you say?! :-0 Blimey bells! That didn't cross my mind. Let's see........ well, yes indeed, it actually looks fantastic as a belt! Even better I would say. That might explain the hook. Thank you for the suggestion you guys! Much appreciated! Now I really need to get my hair done and go disco dancing :-)) See ya...

Thank you lentilka! Yes indeed, all it needs is a petite robe noire. Easy!

Now see, I would have said 20s era necklace, as they often wore these long style pieces down the back. It's a beautiful concoction, whatever it is! Thanks for sharing! :)

Thank you very much katherines! I find it very difficult to give a time stamp to jewelry that's unmarked. Such a beginner :-)) And hey with this one I even didn't realize that it wasn't a necklace! Quite funny. That's why CW is such a great community.
