I found this at a local flea market about 6 or 7 years ago. When I first looked at it, my initial impression was Czech glass until I flipped it over and realized just how wrong I was when I read "99 White Elk" inscribed on the pontil mark. The vase is pretty impressive, standing 13" tall with marbleized swirls of red, pink, and white glass cased in clear glass. The rim is folded and flame polished. Just above the base are four teal green leaves. I can see that the artist, Marty "White Elk" Holmes, is inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado where his studio is located. He has been producing glass objects since 1993. He also has a "zen" sort of influence and practices martial arts. This turned out to be a pleasant surprise, and I was quite fortunate to purchase it at flea market prices.
