    This is a majolica mud man he is 16 inch tall .from what i have read this is the biggest size they made .I got this from a second hand shop.he has some slight damage not to bad.for the age

      The detail in the face is amazing they do it so well that's. Why i love them so much

      They made them bigger 18" is the biggest I seen but they can be bigger but you won't see many larger ones due to they took up shelf space vs having small ones so a lot were not exported. to date them if the piece is stamped China 1890-1919 then made in China 1920-1944 red stamped made in China in the late 40's and no mark wasn't meant for export .The modern ones are Numbered and say made in China.
