I was the only bidder on this beauty!
Bright pinchbeck mount, 22 E stamped at back of the porcelain.
6.2cm (2.4/8") high, 5.5cm (2.1/8") wide.
The original painting is by Gustav Richter, 1823/1884.
This portrait was widely reproduced, either in prints and enamel plaques or brooches, during 19th century. It seems Germany made these pieces.
I prefer the serious expression he shows to the "kitch cuteness" of his siblings! :-))
Thank you CindB for your appreciation and love :-)
Many thanks too for your lovely visit, JImam and Ivan!

Is there a secret to being the only bidder, or actually placing a bid at the last moment while the other bidders are doing something else?
Kyra - what a beautiful brooch this is - congratulations. Do you have any idea of the age of this piece?
Ha, Gillian, I don't know why nobody else bid on it... I didn't snipe but bid 3 days before the end :-)
For the age of the piece, I place it around 1860, because of the mount and size too.
Thank you for your interest!
Thanks Aura and Fortapache for your loves :-D
