Just wondering if anyone has ever seen one of these just looking for info an history ????ty its made by lavico in the early 1900s its a mens jewelry armoire its 48 "high an 20" wide an 14 inches deep it has a pull down door on top with a shelf , 2 shelves on the inside, a pull out drawer on the bottom glass on the top an sides
Not much is known about this company, the registered name could have been Lavi Co. or even a bit different from that. Looks like they supplied good quality cufflinks to menswear stores in 1920s -1940s, it could have only be in one region, like midwest (WI?), not nationally. I wonder if there used to be a connection/partnership with Brooks Brothers? It's a nice store display cabinet, Good luck with your research.
I’m so glad I stumbled onto this! Lavico was my great-grandfather’s men’s jewelry store in the early 1900’s, which was located in Chicago. I can’t say for sure if this cabinet was made by him, but it was for sure one of his display cases. His name was Sam Lavick, and he had several men’s jewelry patents, particularly cuff links, some of which were sold to Swank, where my grandfather Al Lavick then worked. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
