Got at the antique square in Brussels this past summer.
I've seen stuff online but nowhere as ornate. The whole thing is incredibly ornate. Anyone seen this or can help?

No maker marks? A photo of the underside would perhaps help.

This is GREAT!! An ashtray/trinket box. I don't think it's as old as the Art Nouveau period, however. Art Nouveau period was 1890-1910. I would date it to the 1930s, before crosshatch screws became available to manufacturers.

This is mine, bought at a second hand shop here in the Netherlands. It is a good deal older and has no screws.

      Thanks guys for the info.
No makers mark. Bottoms as ornate as too, w bumblebee type lines on underside of belly
      Thanks for the link!
See how much more ornate this design is than examples of the hornet-wasp online?
Looks like they hand etched all the lines.
Love it, use it for my victor phonograph needles!
