I was thrilled when this mirrored pair of Baccarat opaline vases arrived from The Netherlands. They are beautifully enameled, and their main body color is such a beautiful shade of creamy pale yellow. I love how Baccarat designs often literally wrap themselves around a vase, just like a growing vine.
They are in a classic Baccarat shape, and measure 9.75" tall. They both have finely ground and polished bases, numbered in rusty red. Baccarat opaline glass is very heavy; the pieces I have are much heavier than their Bohemian counterparts in similar sizes. These vases date to about 1880.
Beautiful enamel work :-)
Thank you, Bob! The roses are so fresh and real looking - I love them! :)
Soooo! femenine and elagant..and they do look like they are twinning round the vase...nice to have a pair, well done Michelle!..:-)
Thank you, inky! I agree - these are very feminine; I need to see if I have room for these in our bedroom somewhere...:)

Such lovely calm colours, Michelle, and the design follows the shape so very well!
sklo, thank you! I agree with you about the colors - you don't see soft yellows very often, but I find them to be so beautiful.
I love the pale yellow Michelle... it allows that beautiful enamel work to really pop!

Thank you so much Rick & kivatinitz - I appreciate your thoughts! :)
Beautiful find Michelle!
I have a vase in the identical form with an intricately enameled bird on it, pretty sure it's also Baccarat as it doesn't look like any Bohemian enameled birds I've ever seen.
Thank you, Brian! I'd love to see your vase, if you ever get the chance to post it! :)
Hi Michelle, They are beautiful. They look like the one's that have been in my family for year's. Do you think they are from the same time frame?
Hi burnze, I'd love to see a picture of yours! And yes, they would be from the same time period. :)
