This is my Antique Brumby Rocker. It was built sometime in the late 1800's. Legend has it it has been in my Family since it was brand new. My Mom passed away several years ago. This chair found it's way into my Brothers shed where Mice and conditions had it's way with it. I looked into having it restored so I can give it to my Daughter for the arrival of her first child. The price to do so was ridiculous so I decided to do it myself. I had no formal experience doing so but I was about to learn. I did the research on the chair and decided to restore it back to factory. It was a pleasure to bring this chair back to life! I left ever nick and scratch in the chair as it was all family history! I did not restain it. I used Tung oil to revive the existing finish. I learned to cane the chair by watching a you tube video. This Heirloom will be passed on to my Daughter next weekend! My first attempt in pictures for your approval!
