Ii have no idea what this pin is supposed to be called, or why my father borned in 1903 had it with his keepsakes. I would guess it to be old. If any one can tell me anything about this pin I would appreciate it. I don't see any other marks or no. Except (National Deffense)

National Defense Service Medal was first issued to service men during the Korean War (1950-1954 again during the Vietnam War, (1961-1974) and later during the
Persian Gulf War (1990-1995) and Global War on Terrorism (2001-present).

Ty ttomtucker, your knowledge is worth its weight in gold and it means so much to me, giving me a part of my family history that I know was important and ment something specail to my pop. I believe it must have been the Karean War as anything later would not apply to my dad. My brothers were both enlisted, during the war in Vietnam, but not the Army, There is more to come as I go through his wonderful box of things he treasured and that I shall now treasure and take care of. Ty again

The National Defense Service Medal was issued to all US Armed Forces. I was in the Army during Vietnam, My brother was a Navy man during Vietnam War, my dad was a Navy man during WW2 & Korea, all three of us have the medal.
