I found this guy at a rummie last weekend paid a quarter for him. I love paperweights and art glass but the clowns have never been my thing. What I would like to know is if he is Murano and if not where? I got him to flip but now I wonder if I should even try, or would I be wasting time? Thanks in advance.

Murano tourist piece from the 1960's they normaly have black glass feet, yours is unusual to be clear glass?? but beware as a lot of copies are now comming out of China, some are comming out of Poland and Czechoslovakia but are boxed with the country of origin stated on the packaging.
Because of the colours of your i am begining to wonder if it is Chinese? i have an original somewhere, i will see if i can find it.

Not necessarily, based on a number of things, I do not believe it's junk. Junk doesn't have the detail and the layers. These are cased, usually in a tinted clear. I believe this is a unique style of clown that was produced by Murano in the 60's. Clear feet, clear fringe above the shoe at the bottom of the pant legs. White hands coming out of the casing, low. The hair is always detailed, and the body is sometimes turned to the left. These traits match countless others I have seen, most of them on eBay UK. About 1/2 are hatless. None are like each other, all different in some way. I haven't found out what artist made them, but I am actively working on it. I have one similar to yours, sans hat. I had ten clowns to choose from, but this is the one I chose because it was the most unique. I believe it's Murano, and am working towards authentication. Taking it to a Auction house with an "open house" on Tuesdays, they give free appraisals from their experts, hope to have some luck. I have also sent out some emails, waiting to hear back. I will let you know. I will post mine soon.
