This pair of carte de visites feature an older man and woman (husband and wife?) and were produced in the 1860s by Skinner of Fulton, NY.
What I found interesting about the images are the elaborate photographic props in the studio. They seem to overwhelm the scene and take away from the subject.
I suspect that he used the props to convince sitters to pay a slightly higher rate than other photographers!
Those are definitely pretty fancy props. But, they sure made for a really professional looking photo.
Thanks scott-- appreciate the comments!
